Standing Committee on the Use of Emerging Science for Environmental Health Decisions
Since 2008, the Emerging Science committee has convened several workshops per year to explore new sciences, technologies, and research methodologies that could deepen our understandings about the effects of the environment on human health. Previous workshop topics span examining the role of the microbiome in modulating environmental exposures to elucidating the exposome to use of artificial intelligence. These workshops bring together experts in science and public policy for transdisciplinary discussion about scientific advances and how they can be used to inform personal, public health, and regulatory environmental health decisions.
